Traditional inlay bandings are the ideal way to dress up furniture projects, musical instruments and more. Colorful real wood banding is easy to apply: using a router with a straight bit and an edge guide, rout a groove slightly shallower than the thickness of the banding. Then glue the banding in place and sand flush with the surface of the material.

Seal banding before applying stain or colored fillers to avoid color absorption.
